Deep Fried Turkey
Deep frying food at home can seem intimidating. This is especially true if you choose to do your deep frying on the stove top. If you purchase a deep fryer though, things become easier. Look for an immersion heating element. Immersion deep fryers heat up more quickly than models that have the heating element bonded to the bottom of the pot. Immersion elements also make the deep fryer easier to clean. Choose a model with a removable oil reservoir. A removable oil reservoir makes cleanup a snap. It also makes it easier to filter and store your leftover oil. Deep fried turkey cooks more quickly than a roasted turkey. What is more is that the hot oil seals in the juices for moist meat every time. The simplest turkey fryer is a large cooking pot filled with cooking oil and placed on the stove. Because the oil splatters, it's also messy and somewhat dangerous. Turkey fryers powered by propane are a bit safer because the oil is kept contained within the unit. They must be used outside, however. The electric turkey fryers combine the safety of the propane units that it will make you convenience of inside when cooking.
