Exercise bikes are an excellent cardio workout and are low impact, easy on the knees, ankles, joints and back. It’s safe exercise and strengthens and tones the legs and glut muscles, working mostly the lower body. An exercise bike is ideal for those that are overweight or new to exercise. You can set the resistance level on most exercise bikes. It is important that you do not set the resistance too high when you are first starting out. You want to get a good work out, but cycling should not actually hurt, even for a beginner. If you are in continual pain, it is a sign that your resistance is set too high for your fitness level. Choosing a stationary exercise bike can be a little overwhelming. First and foremost, the stationary bike you choose should not only fit your body, but also you health and health conditions. If you have no back problems and you are looking for muscle tone with weight loss, than the upright stationary bike is a good choice.
